Lesson 14 / 24

Participles: -anta, -inta, -onta

Turn a verb into an adjective of time: doing, having done, about to do.

Active participles are adjectives. -anta is happening now: la leganta infano (the child who is reading). -inta is already done: la leginta infano (the child who has read). -onta is still ahead: la legonta infano (the child who will read). They take -j and -n like any adjective: la legantajn infanojn. Passive participles wait until the next lesson: -ata, -ita, -ota.

  3. Kaj la sidinta viro? And the man who sat / has sat?
