Six letters wear a hat: ĉ ĝ ĥ ĵ ŝ ŭ. If your keyboard has no hats, type the letter plus x. The dictionary on this site accepts cx for ĉ.
Write cx gx hx jx sx ux. Readers and this dictionary convert them to ĉ ĝ ĥ ĵ ŝ ŭ. It needs no special font. Avoid mixing hats and x in the same word.
Install an Esperanto layout if you type every day. On a phone, add Esperanto in the keyboard languages. You can also copy hats from the alphabet page on this site.
