Shopping and money
Ask a price, buy something, and count money with the accusative.
Kiom kostas tio? — How much does that cost? It costs five euros is Ĝi kostas kvin eŭrojn — accusative on the amount. I want that one is Mi volas tiun. Please give me… is Bonvolu doni al mi… Cheap and expensive are malmultekosta and multekosta (or malcara / cara). Pay is pagi. Change (money back) is resto or revenmono.

The price takes -n
kosti takes an amount as object: kostas dek dolarojn. So does pezi (to weigh): pezas unu kilogramon. Think of the number as answering “how much of what.”
